
Turing Chief Says UK Must Build Its Own AI for National Resilience
George Williamson, head of the UK's Alan Turing Institute, said Britain must develop domestic AI rather than rely on foreign systems for defence, healthcare and critical infrastructure. He cited US and Chinese leadership and risks of access being restricted or switched off. Sovereign capability, he argued, is essential for national resilience.
