Auckland's disaster recovery team winds up after three years

A government-council team set up to help Auckland rebuild after the 2023 floods and cyclone has closed in June 2026. The team, funded with $2 billion, had organised repairs to roads and buildings, helped people move away from flood-prone areas, and supported communities. The council now manages what's left of the work.
