National picks candidate for Māori electorate it's never won

National has chosen Rangitīkei councillor Coral Raukawa to run for Te Tai Hauāuru, a Māori area National has never won since the current voting system started in 1996. Raukawa is from Marton and has family ties to local Māori groups. She'll challenge the sitting MP, Debbie Ngarewa-Packer from Te Pāti Māori. National hasn't had strong support in Māori seats in the past.
