Cost of a home loan rises to 7.49%

Homebuyers are now paying 7.49% interest on average for a standard 30-year loan with a fixed rate, up to $832,750, the Mortgage Bankers Association said Oct. 8. That lifts monthly bills and makes it harder to qualify. I expect fewer people to buy while rates stay near 7.5%.
