Florida Judge Says $225 Million Torture Lawsuit Can Go to Trial

A Florida judge said a $225 million torture case can proceed. Three former Iranian political prisoners accuse Parviz Sabeti, alleged leader of the shah's Savak secret police, of torture in Tehran prisons. They sued under the Torture Victim Protection Act, a U.S. law for victims. Judge Gregory A. Presnell rejected Sabeti's request to throw it out early. Sabeti denies it.
