National would cut overseas aid to pay for medicines

National says if it leads the next government, it would cut New Zealand’s aid to poorer countries by $431.2 million over four years. The money would lift Pharmac, which buys medicines for New Zealanders, by $604 million. The party says aid to the Pacific would stay, with savings from elsewhere and office costs, and help pay for cancer checks.
