Libya schools closed as teachers stop work

Students in Libya are out of school because public-school teachers stopped work with no end date, delaying the school year. The stoppage grew from pay protests starting Sept. 13 and sit-ins in Tripoli. Two weeks later the union called a countrywide strike for higher standard pay, health coverage and safer workplaces.
