Ethiopia's Army Takes Back Airport Near Tigray's Main City

Ethiopia’s army took back Alula Aba Nega Airport, about 10 km from downtown Mekelle, on Oct. 3, an insider and an aid worker said. Tigray fighters captured it Sept. 23 with two other airports. Holding it decides who can fly in supplies and helps Ethiopia’s attack from three directions. Power and phone cuts block outside checks.
