Ethiopian Army Retakes Mekelle Airport in Tigray Counteroffensive

Ethiopian National Defence Forces regained Alula Aba Nega Airport, about 10 km from central Mekelle, on Oct. 3, a source with knowledge of events and a humanitarian source said. Rebels seized it Sept. 23 with two other Tigray airfields. Control will shape resupply and the three-axis federal push on the city. Blackouts prevent independent confirmation.
