YouTube Shorts now lets you watch videos faster or slower

YouTube is adding speed controls to Shorts—the short videos on its platform. You can now slow down tutorials to follow along or speed up repetitive parts, just like you can on longer videos. The update, rolled out 25 June 2026, removes a reason some users switched to rivals like TikTok.
