Government borrowing costs jump sharply in September
U.S. two-year government IOUs now pay almost 0.6 percentage points more than at the start of September 2026, Reuters reported, the biggest monthly jump since early 2023. Like a see-saw, new savers earn more and new borrowers pay more, but old bonds are worth less. I see investors sharply rethinking rates.
