Why Israel Can't Easily Leave Lebanon

Israel occupies a 10-kilometer strip of southern Lebanon to destroy underground tunnels built by Hezbollah, which violate a UN agreement from 2006. The problem: Lebanon's government and UN peacekeepers don't have the power or numbers to take over security or force Hezbollah to disarm. Any peace deal needs answers to two questions—who checks that tunnels are gone, and who keeps the border safe? So far, no one has a real answer.
