UK's Top Banker Says Officials Must Be Able to Step In on AI

Bank of England chief Andrew Bailey says officials must keep the power to step in over AI, calling dangers from the most powerful AI systems real and growing. Writing in the Bank's first Insight publication, he backs careful safety testing before discussing new rules, warning AI could worsen threats to the money system.
