Trump said the U.S. will not build artificial intelligence — learning computer software — with China. On Sept. 29 in Washington, he said that would give U.S. secrets to America’s main economic rival. He said the topic came up with Xi Jinping at the White House. He opposed rules that slow growth, saying the U.S. must stay ahead of China.
