
Paramount plans record $12.4 billion borrowing to buy Warner
Paramount plans to borrow $12.4 billion-equivalent by selling junk bonds — essentially risky IOUs that pay extra interest — Bloomberg reported Sept. 28. It would be the largest sale of its kind on record, to help pay for its Warner deal. Because the sale is so big, Paramount may have to promise higher interest to attract enough buyers.
