UK to more than double defence spending by 2035

Britain will spend 5% of its annual economic output on defence by 2035—more than double today's 2.3%. Defence Secretary Dan Jarvis announced the commitment on 23 June ahead of NATO talks. The move means hiring more soldiers, building weapons faster, and restocking ammunition. Few NATO countries spend this much.
