NHS Now Spots Brain Tumours During Surgery in Two Hours

NHS England can now identify brain tumours while patients are still in surgery, shrinking the wait from up to eight weeks to two hours. Doctors quickly read the tumour's DNA, its instruction manual. Researchers say knowing the tumour type sooner could bring quicker treatment and a faster chance to join tests of new medicines for some patients.
