Japan Says 81-Year-Old U.N. Rules Need an Update

Japan’s leader, Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae, said the United Nations’ founding rulebook, written 81 years ago, should be updated. Speaking at the U.N.’s 81st yearly meeting of world leaders, she said the old ‘enemy States’ wartime labels should be erased. She gave no date for that change.
