NDP leader says airport plan would hand control to business, raise fees

NDP Leader Avi Lewis said Sept. 22 that Ottawa's plan to let private investors bid to run Canada's four biggest airports — in Toronto, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver — is a sale in all but name because control would last decades. He said travellers would likely pay higher fees. Ottawa says it would still own the land underneath.
