Why Planes Had to Wait in Newark, Philadelphia and Teterboro

The FAA, America's air safety agency, kept planes on the ground around 10 a.m. on Sept. 21, 2026, at Newark Liberty, Philadelphia International and Teterboro airports, like holding cars at a red light. Takeoffs and landings at Newark were delayed. Some Philadelphia air-traffic radio channels were disrupted until the early afternoon.
