Why Snoopy cups and SpongeBob toys cost more on eBay

Snoopy cups from Starbucks and SpongeBob toys from McDonald's are reselling on eBay for much more than stores charged, MarketWatch reported Sept. 19, 2026. Like a secondhand concert ticket, the store keeps only the first price; extra cash goes to resellers. I see those high prices as proof many buyers want them, not that companies earned more.
