Qantas Plans Non-Stop Flights from Sydney to London and New York

Qantas is modifying Airbus A350 jets to fly non-stop from Sydney to London and New York—routes that today require a connection. The trick: adding an extra fuel tank holding 20,000 litres (about 5,300 gallons) to extend range. The airline needs high ticket prices to offset carrying fewer passengers on these ultra-long flights.
