Most children who arrived alone and face court are staying in Texas shelters

Over 90% of children who arrived alone and are in government care with new court cases on whether they can stay were sent to Texas shelters in August, up from almost 80% in July, per bklg.org analysis shared with the Guardian. Of 925 Texas cases, 651 came in those two months. Texas will not give the federal shelters state permits.
