U.S. May Sell Advanced Fighter Jets to Saudi Arabia

The State Department approved a possible sale of F-35 fighter jets — fast, hard-to-detect warplanes — to Saudi Arabia. The Sept. 17, 2026 decision, filed as Transmittal No. 26-69, only allows announcing the plan, not sending planes yet. The White House says sending them later would support American factories that build weapons.
