Saudi Arabia Shuts Backup Oil Route After Attacks

Saudi Arabia shut its pipeline that carries oil across the desert to the Red Sea, after attacks by a group in Iraq backed by Iran, Sept. 17 reports said. It was a backup road for oil while Iran blocked the Strait of Hormuz, the sea doorway for oil. Shipments at Yanbu port stalled, prices rose $3, hitting records in China.
