Opposition Asks Government Not to Raise Taxes

Opposition finance spokesman Andrew Griffith, in the job just over two weeks, told money chief John Healey not to raise taxes in the budget, like household bills, in a 17 September 2026 small-business speech. He asked Craig Mackinlay and Robert Colvile to review cutting business rules. Healey, needing billions, would not discuss tax plans before the budget.
