EU Suggests Closer Partnership With Canada

EU leader Ursula von der Leyen suggested Canada could become the EU's first associate member, a close partner but not a full member. In her Sept. 15 State of the Union speech in Strasbourg, she said allies need to stick together in 'an openly hostile world,' as China becomes more forceful.
