Japan counts more than 100,000 people aged 100 and up

Japan is home to 107,677 people aged 100 or older, topping 100,000 for the first time, numbers released Sept. 16 show. That means everyone who has had a 100th birthday. As living to 100 becomes more common, Japan will need more daily help for very old people and more retirement money saved.
