Fourth Measles Death in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania health officials said Sept. 15 an 18-year-old from Mifflin County died with measles and swelling in the brain and spinal cord, like a severe reaction after infection. All four U.S. measles-related deaths in 2026 were in Pennsylvania, in Lancaster and Mifflin counties. State and national numbers do not match, so counting methods need watching.
