
Big Investment Firms Own Very Polluting Energy
Twenty investment firms emit 1.5 billion tons of heat-trapping gases a year from energy they own — more than any country except China, the U.S., India and Russia, the Private Equity Climate Risks Consortium says. They manage $7.3 trillion, own 370 plants burning coal, oil and gas and 15,000 pipeline miles. What private owners must reveal is the next test.
