NDP Wins Special Vote in Calgary

Kyle Campbell of the Alberta NDP declared victory in a special Calgary-Shaw vote to fill an empty seat on September 14. Unofficial results gave him 7,461 votes, ahead of Mike Derry of the UCP with 6,879. Premier Danielle Smith congratulated Campbell and said her government would work with him.
