Petition to keep Treaty wording in laws

Ngāti Kahungunu, a Māori iwi or tribal group, has given Parliament a petition with 52,672 signatures, RNZ reported. It asks the Government not to change mentions of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, New Zealand’s founding agreement, in laws. Ikaroa-Rāwhiti Member of Parliament Cushla Tangaere-Manuel received it to pass on to Parliament.
