Self-driving taxis start picking up riders in Las Vegas

Waymo started picking up the public in self-driving taxis in Las Vegas on September 14, 2026, after Nevada regulators gave permission, adding new riders gradually. The company, owned by Alphabet, begins with dozens of Ojai minivans running from the Strip south of Highway 589 to Boulder Junction. Las Vegas is its 15th market with paid rides.
