Australia Is Using Much Less Gas in the Evening

Electricity made from gas between 5pm and 8pm in Australia dropped 67% in the year to August 2026, EnergyEdge says. The grid operator separately reports April-to-June gas power averaged its lowest for those months in over 20 years, with drops everywhere, mostly in evening rush hours.
