Top AI leader says slow down making AI smarter

Anthropic chief Dario Amodei said Sept. 12, 2026 that companies should slow how quickly their AI systems become more powerful. In a blog post with three plans to control progress on the most advanced AI, he cited a break-in involving OpenAI and Hugging Face, and AI getting better at helping create its replacements.
