Reports of sexual violence in Australia reach all-time high

Reports of sexual violence in Australia were the highest ever in 2024, then dropped less than 1% in 2025 — hardly a change after rising 64% over 15 years. The yearly report, released 9 September 2026, saw Plibersek tell Parliament a mother felt parenting was "standing at the edge of a field watching something unfold."
