Hockey Fans in Canada Lose Free TV Option

Canada's public broadcaster CBC is no longer allowed to show Hockey Night in Canada for free after June 16, 2026. Rogers, the company that paid for exclusive rights to broadcast the games, decided it makes more money keeping games behind paid subscriptions. Now only Rogers Sportsnet and Amazon Prime Video offer coverage—both require payment. Viewers without cable or streaming access are left out.
