Menendez Brothers to Get Earlier Chance at Release in 2027

Erik and Lyle Menendez, convicted in 1996 of murdering their parents, will face a parole hearing in March 2027 — about 17 months earlier than expected. Parole is a board's decision on whether to release an inmate before their sentence ends. A judge made them eligible in May 2025 by reducing their sentence to 50 years to life.
