Ferry sinks off Cyprus: eight dead, nine arrested

A ferry carrying 267 people flipped over off northern Cyprus on August 30 after two large waves hit it right after it left Kyrenia. Eight people died; 18 are still missing. Police arrested the captain, seven crew, and one other man, and are searching for seven more — including land-based staff. The trip had been delayed from Saturday due to bad weather.
