Australia Sues Burger Restaurant for False Donation Claims

Australia's consumer protection agency sued Grill'd on June 15 for lying about donations. The burger chain promised A$1 per burger would go to planting trees but actually gave far less. From January 2021 to April 2024, this misled customers about where their money went. The agency doesn't need to prove the company meant to cheat—only that customers could reasonably be fooled.
