Fox Buys Roku for $22 Billion, Consolidating Control of Streaming Hardware

Fox Corporation is acquiring Roku, the company behind the devices that connect your TV to streaming services, for $22 billion. The deal closes in mid-2027. Roku operates 90 million of these devices in U.S. homes and has promised to remain neutral toward competing streaming platforms. The acquisition joins Amazon and Google, which already own similar technology.
