Porirua council member dies

Mike Duncan, who worked on Porirua City Council representing the Onepoto area for ten years, has died suddenly. The reason has not been announced. Mayor Anita Baker said everyone was shocked. The council will need to decide whether to hold a vote for a new member or simply pick someone to fill the empty seat.
