Snapchat Now Automatically Locks Teen Accounts to Friends Only

Snapchat announced June 10 it will automatically switch any user under 16 to friends-only mode, regardless of what age they entered when signing up. The platform uses secret signals to identify younger users, and users cannot override this lock. Snapchat has not explained how accurate this system is or what happens if it wrongly flags an adult.
