GOG Sent Offensive Image to Half Its Users. Internal Warning Got Lost.

A German quality assurance team at GOG, a digital video game store, flagged concerns about offensive symbols in a June 2024 promotional email before it was sent out. The warning never reached other departments. About half of GOG's subscribers received the newsletter anyway, containing imagery linked to Nazi symbols, before distribution stopped. The problem was how the company organized communication between teams, not a technical failure.
