DeepMind's New Tool Turns Sign Language Into Text on Pixel 11
DeepMind's SL2T model, launched August 12 on the Pixel 11, translates sign language hand movements directly into text. Older systems worked in two steps: first labeling each sign with a rough word, then converting that to sentences. SL2T does it in one pass. Trained on 100,000+ hours of multilingual data, it could make adding more languages cheaper. Only American Sign Language to English works at launch.
