Turkey Considers Pausing Prison Time for PKK Members

Turkey's lawmakers are debating a bill that would pause prison sentences for people convicted of joining or helping the PKK, an armed rebel group. The bill, from President Erdogan's party, follows the PKK's own announcement in February 2025 that it would disband. Parliament's speaker says the pause would be small in scope and not permanent.
