Turkey's Parliament Begins Draft-Law Deliberations to Suspend PKK Prison Sentences

Turkey's parliament began deliberating a draft law to suspend prison sentences for individuals convicted of PKK membership or aiding the group. Filed by Erdogan's ruling party, the bill is the first statutory instrument of the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process, which follows the PKK's self-dissolution call issued by imprisoned founder Abdullah Öcalan in February 2025. Speaker Kurtulmuş says the law will be "exclusive and temporary."
