Hipkins says Labour won't team up with NZ First

Labour leader Chris Hipkins says he will not work with New Zealand First to form a government. Under New Zealand's voting system, parties usually need allies to govern. That leaves the Greens and Te Pāti Māori as Labour's only possible partners. The announcement followed a poll showing Labour at 27.8 percent — its lowest in that poll series.
