Most of England Is Dangerously Dry — and Millions Face Water Limits
England had its driest July since 1836 — just 6.5mm of rain. Now 71.3% of the country is in a flash drought, meaning the land dried out very quickly. About 45 million people are affected, and over 27 million face limits on water use. Official Tony Grayling says only steady rain will fix it. The group warned of this back in October 2025.
