Ford will give 8 million owners a free AI helper — no subscription needed

Ford is adding an AI chatbot to its Ford and Lincoln phone apps in early 2026, reaching 8 million owners over time. It will be free, with no paid subscription. Tied to each car, it answers owner's manual questions, shows live vehicle data, and estimates cargo space from photos. A voice version inside the car is planned for 2027. Ford is forgoing the paywall approach many automakers now use.
